At 11-weeks old, Agatha is still discovering the world around her.
I am a puppy. I am bigger now. Not very big. Just more puppy.
I know lots of things now. The big white machine means adventures. Charlie still likes quiet. People still have many rules. My Kong still makes my mouth happy. I think I know my home now.
One day the people took me outside. There were little green plants in black pots. The people liked the little plants. I smelled every one. They all smelled different.
People like smelling too. They just use their eyes.
There were so many pots. They made a little path. I walked right on top of them. One pot. Two pots. Three pots.
The people said, “Agatha! No!” Oops.
I jumped back down. People do not like walking on little plants. That is another rule. People have many rules.
Then the man picked up the long green snake. I know it is not really a snake. It does not smell like a snake. It is soft. It is very, very long.
Then the man turned a funny thing. Suddenly… Water came flying out! Not a little water. Lots of water!
The water fell from the sky. But the sky was blue. That was confusing.
I ran toward it. The water ran toward me. I jumped. The water jumped.
I bit the water. The water disappeared. Then it landed on my face. I shook and shook and shook. The water did not care.
I barked. The water kept coming. I chased it. It chased me. We played for a long time. I got very wet. Wet is fun.
Then the man brought out another funny thing. This one was black. It had a long nose. It made a loud noise.
I knew what to do. I pounced! Nothing. I pounced again.
Something pushed my face. I could not see it. I bit at it. Nothing. I barked.
The invisible stuff pushed my ears. It pushed my tail. It pushed all my fur. I chased it everywhere. I almost caught it. Almost.
Then we went for a ride. I love rides. The big white machine makes the world move.
The trees go backward. The houses run away. The people say we are moving. I think everything else is moving.
The window was open. There it was again! The invisible stuff!
This invisible stuff was a much lot bigger. Something touched my nose. I looked. Nothing was there.
Something touched my ears. Nothing. Something pushed all my fur backward. Still nothing!
But it smelled like everything. Trees. Grass. Flowers. Water. Dirt. Faraway dogs. People. Places I had never been. I sniffed as fast as I could. There were too many smells.
My ears flapped. My tongue flapped. Everything flapped. I liked it very much.
I stood as tall as I could. The invisible stuff wrapped all around me. It made me feel like I was flying. I was not flying. I checked. My paws were still in the truck.
When we got home, I looked for the invisible stuff. It was hiding. Then the leaves moved. I felt it again. I could not see it. But it was there.
I think invisible stuff lives everywhere. Sometimes people catch it in funny machines.
The world has many things. Some things you can see. Some things you can smell. Some things you can chew. And some things… are invisible.
I think invisible stuff likes to play.
